Urban Decay Naked Flushed Palette - Streak

As an exam present, I was very lucky to be treated by my best friend with the Urban Decay Naked Flushed palette. I was in complete shock as I wasn't expecting anything so thank you Holly!

I’ll start off with the bronzer as this is what I used first. This is a really good match for me as you can still see that I have a colour but it isn't obvious. It helps you to look as if you've come back from a weekend away and you've caught the sun a little. There is a slight amount of shimmer which helps with the glow and making you looks healthy.

I then went on the apply the blusher. I’m quite predictable when it comes to blush and lipstick as I seem to have my ‘comfort zone’ and it takes a lot for me to branch out and try new things. Every time I walked past the Urban Decay counter, I always found myself looking at the flushed palettes without realising. It was at this point in which streak caught my eye. I usually go towards the lines on strip but there was something about streak that I felt I wanted to try it. It is a coral blush and as soon as I applied it, I loved how it looked! It doesn't have any shimmer so you have to be careful not to go overboard with it as it can look really unnatural.

Finally, the highlighter! This is really fine and just add that glow back into your face and brightens your face up. It is not really shimmery so you can’t really go wrong with it but it is enough to catch the light and give you the healthy glow along with the bronzer.

Do you have any products from Urban Decay or on your wish list?

Top 3 Real Techniques Brushes

There are a few brushes to choose from in the Real Techniques collection. I didn't know where to start when they first came out so I put a load down on my christmas list and started from there. The first on the list were the Core Collection and the Travel Essentials. I then figured out which ones were not in the set and worked from there. They are really good quality for an affordable price and really soft which is what everyone hopes for in a brush.

Now that I’ve had them for a few years, I thought that I would share my top 3 favourites and give you and idea what they are like if you haven’t got these and was thinking about buying them.

My favourite brush for foundation would be the buffing brush. I got this as part of the core  collection. It does exactly what it says on the tin! It blends foundation really well and doesn't leave you with brush stroke marks. Really recommend having this in your collection if you haven’t already!

For concealer/bb cream I love the expert face brush. It blends out the product really well and I think this is a staple for anyone. You literally can’t go wrong with it.

I love a brush that can be used for a number of purposes (especially when travelling!) I suppose you could find a brush that has more than one purpose but I thought this one is an all rounder. The multi task brush is another that is self explanatory. This is another brush that was part of a set and from the travel essentials. I have used this for blush, highlight and contour. Great brush in my eyes and applies just the right amount of product as long as you don’t go crazy with loading up the brush.

Have you used any of these brushes or now wanting to try them?

Maybelline Master Sculpt

I have heard my people talk about this product and thought it was about time that I tried it for myself. I saw the advert on boots and thought, yes, time to make an order!

I ordered the Maybelline Master Sculpt Contouring Palette - 01 Light Medium. This only comes in 2 shades (Light Medium and Medium Dark) and for £6.99, it is affordable. I went for the lighter shade as I didn't want it to look OTT. I now wish that I had gone for the darker shade as you can’t really see the product when it is on. You can make it work but it takes a lot of time and effort so I apply this first and then my Solar Powder from Soap and Glory over the top for that extra definition and continue to bronze with that.

Now, the highlighter. I haven't used this as I prefer to use my MAC Skinfinish - Soft and Gentle as it is my favourite so I find it to be a waste and a bit pointless as you only get that little slither. For this reason, I’d prefer it without.

Have you tried this product and if so, what did you think to it?

Italy 2015 Travel Diary

Last Tuesday (27th July), I went to Latina, Italy with my family to see some friends who my Dad had met through work. It is about an hour away from Rome (aka Roma if you're Italian). We spent most of the time either beside/in the pool. However, we did go to Rome for the day as I was still a baby last time I went so wanted to see it properly and visit the places I did when I was younger. There was also a Grease party whilst we were there which will explain the fancy dress!

I thought that I would share some of my holiday photos with you to give you an idea as to what I was up to for the last week. Anyway, I won’t keep you waiting as you want to see the photos and not read what I have been doing right?

Have you ever been to Italy or even Rome itself?

Carmex Lip Balm

What an amazing product this is! I’d never used this product before but heard such good reviews that I had to give it a go and I have to say that I can’t imagine myself using anything else now because it is in a league of its own.

As you may have seen, I made a purchase from Latest in Beauty and bought 2 of the Carmex pots. (I don’t know why 2 but yanoo…) I love them but lost one whilst I was on NCS (Ive not found it in my bag)  so thought I would buy another but go for the tube rather than the pot.

I like them both for different reasons. The first would be that the tube is less messy as I dont have to put my finger in and apply it which is a bonus but the this leads on to the second point. It doesn't have the longevity that the pot does. However, as you may have guessed, I don’t like putting my finger into the pot and applying it but it is alright for when I apply it before bed.

I would recommend both as they are still great products and they both last longer than the Vaseline tins and would never buy another as they're pointless compared to Carmex.

Have you ever tried Carmex? Have you tried another brand which is better than Carmex?

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed
